It’s all about the Classical Music this weekend (Sat 25th & Sun 26th) at the Harwich Festival with a trio of concerts featuring world renowned musicians.
We kick off on Saturday at 1pm in St Nicholas Church with Scottish Violinist Charlotte Rowan accompanied by pianist Charlotte Stevenson.
A regular soloist with orchestras in both America and Britain, Charlotte has performed concerti by Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Dvorak, Glazunov and Elgar. In October 2019 she was artist-in-residence at Wetherby Arts Festival where she performed the Bruch Violin Concerto with Leeds Symphony Orchestra under conductor Martin Binks MBE.

We’re back at St Nicholas Church for an evening concert with Clarinettist Luca Luciano (7.30pm).
Internationally recognized for his groundbreaking contributions to contemporary clarinet music, praised by Musical Opinion (UK’s oldest classical music magazine) for his “constantly beautiful tone”, he starts his career at a very young age and has since “established himself as the friendly face of contemporary clarinet”.

Join us for a Sunday Recital with Internationally acclaimed virtuoso multi-instrumentalist Baluji Shrivastav OBE. The performance starts at 2.30pm at the Harwich Arts & Heritage Centre.
Baluji Shrivastav OBE is an Indian multi-instrumentalist who was blinded at 8 months old and has become one of the worlds leading composers and sitar players. He has performed and recorded with some of the greatest tabla accompanists such as Anindo Chatterji and Ustad Fayaz Khan. He has worked with a wide variety of artists including Stevie Wonder, Massive Attack, Madness, Shakira, Malu, Boy George, Doves.
