Daniel Johnson
Pianist. Composer.
Johnson comes to Harwich Festival to perform his original work, which, since its release, has been featured and playlisted on specialist radio programmes across the UK.
Johnson grew up in a non-musical household but knew from an early age that the piano would become his lifeline. The instrument allowed him to explore and express himself as a young boy growing up, before it began to help him communicate with other people. By writing and performing his own music he was able to express himself to an even wider audience. He soon discovered how to get complete strangers relating to their own experiences through his music.
Johnson enjoys performing to different audiences and is determined to spread the good word about classical music to everyone, whatever their background or their perceived notion of the genre.
As a concert pianist, Johnson has performed around the United Kingdom, as well as worldwide onboard CUNARD’s famous ocean liners, including the flagship QM2.
Daniel was the classical Artistic Associate for the Harwich Festival from 2018 until 2021.
