The Harwich Kindertransport Learning is inviting families to this free screening, which will follow a short historical background introduction.
For the very first time, we are holding a Refugee Week event in memory of the thousands of Jewish children who arrived here alone in the months before WW2 erupted.
Encanto celebrates the power of Kindness and Welcome, and why community is so important for refugees—and for all of us: Every displaced person—like every person—has a gift. The movie also explores the loss and impact of having to flee your home and experience violence and persecution.
Everyone is welcome to pop by and grab a leaflet about the Kindertransport in Harwich, plus a creative activity kit we made for Refugee Week 2023.
After the screening everyone is invited to see the display of illustrated refugee stories, as drawn and written by Year 6 children earlier that day.
