Lizz Lipscombe (HF 2024)

Lizz Lipscombe – Multi-Genre Violinist, exploring Classical, Jazz, Folk and more.. with Daniel Johnson – Pianist/Composer, former Classical Artistic Associate at Harwich Festival of the Arts (2018-21).

In her formative years, Lizz was classically trained and spent 5 years at the Royal Academy of Music (London). With a love of Jazz & Blues improvisation, her playing takes her from intimate to international as an entertainer. Qualifying as a music therapist in 2020, she now uses her violin extensively in her work with Dementia, Parkinsons, brain injury and profound learning difficulties. She has performed at the bedside of individual patients for NHS Foundations and at Headway charity groups. She currently enjoys being a resident performer at over 30 Care homes across England. Her most prestigious violin playing includes performing and recording with Smokey Robinson, Richard Hawley, Newton Faulkner and Peter Gabriel. Playing live on BBC2 radio with Bob Harris and on TV for ‘Songs of Praise’ and ‘Later… with Jools Holland’. Lizz enjoys the virtuosity of the violin spanning styles and exploring the extensive capabilities in tone quality from this wonderful instrument. Core to her worldwide travel has been over 15 years theatre performances on cruise ships with Elektra violin duo. It was aboard that she met the talented Daniel Johnson who joins her on stage today. Lizz’s career as a soloist has included Classical and Jazz concerts with choirs and bands across the UK. She first performed for Harwich festival with Daniel in 2019, then again solo during Covid via video link in 2020. She is delighted to be back on the stage in person with her dear friend for this prestigious event in 2024
