Turn Keys follows two soldiers, deep underground in the depths of a bunker in the midst of a never-ending war. Faced with tough decisions and even stranger circumstances will they pull through? Or will they succumb to the pressures of their superiors…..
Duration 30 minutes followed by a Q and A with the Author and Actors.
About the Author:
My name is Luke Pearson, I attended East 15 Acting School and did a masters in acting, during my time there we had contextual studies taught by Zois Pigadas. It was in these classes my interest in writing grew. Initially with Turn Keys it started as an exercise in free form writing, but the subjects that developed over the course of the process felt too interesting to ignore. The world in which the plays takes place is in a never ending war which feels so relevant to what we see in our lives everyday with Ukraine and Russia and the propaganda which has stemmed from this. I wanted to explore this farcical idea that in an alternate timeline where logic and communication has broken down how would this look, sound and act out.
About Dramatic Pause Productions:
Dramatic Pause Productions was created when a group of likeminded people got together to make their passion a reality. With 8 founding members and a continually growing group, they strive to deliver at least two performances a year and feature at the annual Brantham Play Festival and Harwich Festival of the Arts.
DPP is open to new members at all times of the year, so just come along and meet us. Even if you don’t want to act the group welcome all talents, whether it be dancing, singing, directing, costume design, set design and much more!
DPP meet once a week on Tuesday evenings at the Harwich Arts and Heritage Centre and rehearsals increase as we get nearer to a performance. Monthly subscription is just £5 or you can choose to pay a one off performance fee of £15 if you fancy just dipping in and out throughout the year!
You will also find members of DPP at various events around Harwich and Dovercourt; hosting fund raising quizzes or bingo, to help bring you the best performances possible.
You can contact DPP through our Facebook page or at dramaticpauseproductions@gmail.com
