Wollaston Consort @ HF2023

What’s our first concert at this festival you ask?

The Wollaston Consort, (Julie Harmer, flute, and Peter Clayton, harpsichord) was founded in 2008 and performs flute and harpsichord music from the Baroque and early Classical periods will be performing at St Nicholas Church at 1pm on Friday 23rd June.

Its repertoire includes music from England, France, Italy and Germany by well-known composers including J.S. Bach, Handel and Vivaldi, and equally fine music by less well known composers such as Blavet, Leclair, Loeillet, Quantz and other members of the Bach family. Its name was inspired by a painting in Christchurch Mansion in Ipswich depicting Colonel William Wollaston (1731-1797) who was a (flute playing) MP for Ipswich between 1768 and 1784.
